Daycare and boarding software has a harder job than a grooming calendar: kennel and run assignments, vaccine checks, packages, check-in and check-out, and often grooming and training on the side. These are the facility tools in our directory, described from each company's own site.

• Time To Pet is best known for walking and sitting, but lists a Facility plan at $79/mo.
• Kennel Connection offers an all-in-one system for boarding, daycare and grooming facilities.
• ProPet is modular software for kennels, daycares, groomers and trainers.
• PetExec is cloud software for daycares, boarding facilities, trainers and groomers.
• PetLinx, KennelBooker and Kennel Link focus on kennel bookings and facility operations.
• Goose pitches revenue management and deposit-backed bookings for facility operators.

What to compare

1. Vaccine and intake rules. Can it block a booking when a vaccine expires, and can owners upload records themselves?
2. Packages and memberships. Daycare runs on punch cards and monthly passes. Make sure the software handles yours without workarounds.
3. Run and kennel assignment. Look at the boarding calendar in a demo with a busy holiday week.
4. Deposits and cancellation fees for holiday boarding.
5. Multi-service. If you also groom or train, one system means one client record.
6. Payments lock-in. Some prices assume you use the vendor's payment processing. Ask what the price is without it.

Bottom line

Ask for a demo using your busiest week, not a quiet Tuesday. Bring your package list, vaccine rules and cancellation policy, and see which system handles them out of the box.
